OUR ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABILITY POLICY
We at Mail Boxes Etc. (Australia) are conscious of our social responsibilities with regards to helping the environment through our working practices. Our objective is not only to sustain our environment for our descendants but where possible to rehabilitate damage previously done. We believe that our corporate responsibility goes beyond the walls of our business and therefore every effort will be made to conserve resources throughout our operations.
Mail Boxes Etc. Franchisees endeavour to not only meet existing environmental laws and regulations, but will actively look to find better working practices that position us ahead of our competition to make us a better corporate citizen.
Although the growth of our company does not solely depend on our ability to minimise our impacts on our surroundings, our ownership of these issues is of critical importance for the future of our community, our children and our legacy.

AWARENESS AND COMMITMENT
Our policy towards the environment will be readily available and be promoted to our customers and suppliers. We will endeavour to ensure staff are familiar with and implement our environmental commitment and objectives.

Our environmental policy will be included in our company policies that all staff must accept as a condition of employment with Mail Boxes Etc. Franchises.
ENERGY & WATER CONSUMPTION
Mail Boxes Etc. Franchisees accept a share of the communities expectation of a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by both attaining greater efficiency in total energy consumption and by continuing to examine the possibility of acquiring electricity from ‘green’ sources when finances permit.
Practical Implementation:
We are in the fortunate position of having very low water usage and are already minimising its use.
All lighting has been, or will be, replaced with low energy LED lighting
Each time we upgrade printing equipment we endeavour to ensure that the total power usage for each page printed is lower than with the prior technology.
WASTE GENERATION AND MANAGEMENT
Mail Boxes Etc. Franchisees will endeavour to minimise the production of waste and pollution; including unnecessary packaging. We will implement measures to reduce the volume of waste generated and to increase the proportion of that waste which is recycled.
Practical Implementation:
All of our primary digital printer providers take back all used toner containers, waste toner containers and used parts. These will be recycled or disposed of in a proven environmentally friendly method.
