File Compression

If you're downloading files off the Internet, or sending project files to our customer service representatives, you'll need a compression utility to make your files smaller. The software applications listed offer a wide range file formats, including .zip, .bin, and .hqx. Windows

• StuffIt Expander/DropStuff
  
  If you're downloading files off the Internet, or sending files to friends and coworkers, you need this utility. StuffIt Expander allows to decompress and use a wide range file formats, including .zip, .bin, and .hqx.

  WinZip brings the convenience of Windows to the use of Zip files and other compression formats. The optional wizard interface makes zipping and unzipping easier than ever. WinZip features built-in support for CAB files and for popular Internet file formats such as TAR, gzip, UUencode, BinHex, and MIME. ARJ, LZH, and ARC files are supported via external programs. WinZip interfaces to most virus scanners.

RAR features the ability to break very large compressed files into multiple parts, allowing for easy e-mailing of archives.
